12 Whey Protein Smoothie Recipes That Burn Fat Fast

If you have not had a chance to look around this website much let me give you a couple quick notes before we dive into some delicious whey protein smoothie recipes.

First and foremost, if you are not familiar with whey protein then I’ll make this short and sweet.  Whey protein powder is quite possibly the best protein source on the planet for men and women of all ages.  It is considered a “perfect protein” because it is a complete protein…meaning that it contains all of the amino acids your body needs and even gives you the essential amino acids that your body cannot product on its own.

It will help your muscles recover faster after a workout, it will help you burn body fat, boost your immune system, increase your body’s own antioxidants, and is easily digestible and absorbed into your system.  There are too many benefits to list here but there are many more resources on this website if you want to learn more.

Whey protein powder is also great because it is virtually tasteless and essentially takes on the flavor of the foods it is combined with.  There are a few great tasting whey protein powder like natural vanilla, natural chocolate, and natural strawberry that we suggest as well.

We believe that it is the perfect protein to add to any shake or smoothie for a number of reasons including helping in rapid workout and muscle recovery, boosting the immune system, building muscle including lean muscle mass, fat-burning, antioxidant enhancing, and so much more.

This paragraph is key so read carefully. The whey protein powders you find in your supermarket are typically just highly processed, artificially sweetened, and unnaturally made with hardly any of the benefits it could give you.  We only suggest whey protein powders that come from healthy natural grass fed raw milk that is micro-filtered at low temperatures.  Basically, all that means is that the source of the whey protein is completely natural, contains drastically more benefits, and is not processed at high heat which kills all the amazingly healthful enzymes in whey protein.  So if you care about what you put in your body…take our advice…we only suggest whey protein powder that we ourselves drink.

Quick hint:  Do not use a juicer!  We don’t recommend juicing at all but rather use a blender.  Juicing takes out the whole food…meaning that virtually all of the fiber is gone and your body cannot absorb the juice.  Blending keeps all those much desired fibers in the meal…meaning our bodies can get the most out of the smoothie.

Also, if you can get organic ingredients we highly recommend using organic.

Whey Protein Smoothie Recipes:

1. James Geraughty Post Workout Smoothie

James was a friend and also my speed training coach when I was training to play professional soccer.  He used to load me up with this smoothie every day after our workouts to help replenish the body and get those broken down muscle fibers fed and build back up quickly.  It is a simple and more importantly quick recipe.  Ideally you should have a high protein smoothie within 20 minutes of working out when your muscles are looking for nourishment.

Ingredients (try different proportions to suit your taste):

  • Organic Apples (diced frozen apples work great and keep longer)
  • Organic Carrots
  • Organic Lemon
  • Grass Fed Whey Protein Powder
  • Ice

Carrots are known as the healing food the provides the highest quality nutrients. It is an excellent source of Vitamins A, C, D, E, K, B1 and B6

It is rich with Biotin, potassium, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, organic sodium, and trace minerals.

What does that mean?
Biotin (or B-7) is important for cell growth, synthesis of fatty acids, absorbs nutrients that the body needs by converting food into energy and carbon dioxide throughout the body. It promotes hair and nail strength and is known to help sharpen eye sight.
Potassium is a main electrolytes that the body needs to function. It helps develop muscle growth and muscle contractions, nerve cell functions and balancing water distribution throughout the body. A lack in potassium causes fatigue or muscle cramps as well as more serious problems.

Enjoy that quick and easy smoothie!

2.  Antioxidant Monster

This is one of my favorite smoothies to make when I’m in more of a hurry.  I always keep organic frozen strawberries, blueberries, and pomegranate seeds in my freezer.  Frozen fruit is actually very healthy as it is picked during the season when it is ripest and then usually frozen almost immediately.  Enjoy this one!

  • 1 cup frozen organic strawberries
  • 1/2 cup frozen organic blueberries
  • 1/3 cup pomegranate seeds or acai berry (preferably frozen)
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened coconut milk or unsweetened almond milk
  • Grass Fed Whey Protein Powder

3. Lemon Ginger
 Berry

This one is great if you want something a little less sweet and that has a lower glycemic index.  I don’t put a lot of stock into glycemic index since the quality of your food matters much more than GI but if you want to great mix of high fiber fruits and a little kick of ginger then give this one a shot!

  • 1/2 bunch organic parsley
  • 3/4 cup organic blueberries
  • 1/3 cup organic raspberries
  • 1/4 to 1/2 inch ginger root, sliced thin to cut up the “hairs”
  • One 1/4″ slice of lemon, seeded, but with the peel
  • 1/2 – cup water
  • 1/4 cup of coconut milk
  • Grass Fed Whey Protein Powder

4. Banana Cherry and Sesame

  • Frozen organic cherries (1/2 cup to 1 cup – I happen to love them so I tend to add the larger amount)
  • 1 frozen organic banana
  • 1/3 cup liquid of your choice (I use fresh made sesame milk, from the soaked seeds – it is LOADED with calcium or coconut milk – an extremely healthy fat)
  • 1 or 2 teaspoons of raw cacao powder
  • Raw honey or vanilla flavored agave as sweetener
  • Grass Fed Whey Protein Powder

5. Mango Orange Creamsicle

This one is super refreshing!  Don’t let the fact that you are throwing spinach leaves in a blender with fruit freak you out…you can’t even taste the spinach.  Don’t mind the fact that it makes it a weird color and enjoy this little masterpiece…

  • 1/3 cup of coconut milk – gives this a delicious creamy quality
  • 1 bunch spinach
  • 1 cup frozen mango
  • 1 peeled orange – frozen works great to get that smoothie consistency just make sure you peel it first!
  • Grass Fed Whey Protein Powder

Mike Geary is a guy that we have a ton of respect for and is the author of a great ebook called Truth About Abs that has sold somewhere around half a million copies.  If you want to learn some great secrets about getting a flat stomach and shed body fat fast then we highly suggest buying his book/program now.  Tons of great nutritional advice as well as exercise programs.

Mike actually has a great video here with some very unique tips to burning fat and getting great abs

  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk (very low in sugar if you get the unsweetened variety)
  • 1 cup coconut milk drink (if you can’t find the “coconut milk drink”, you can use 1/3 cup canned coconut milk with 2/3 cup water, since canned coconut milk is much thicker and creamier than “coconut milk drink”)
  • 1 packet unsweetened frozen acai puree – unsweetened
  • A couple handfuls of frozen goji berries or other mixed berries (I’ve found frozen goji berries at Whole Foods stores… don’t use dried goji berries as they’ll make big chunks in your smoothie.  The frozen goji berries taste better too.
  • A small handful of frozen spinach
  • 1 packet of stevia (a natural non-caloric sweetener I like to use since I’m strictly against the use of artificial sweeteners)
  • 2 teaspoons of chia seeds (one of the most nutrient-dense foods you can eat…loaded with rare antioxidants, soluble fiber, protein, vitamins, minerals, and super high in omega-3’s)
  • 2 teaspoons of hemp seeds (significant amounts of zinc, magnesium, phosphorus and other minerals, as well as a high quality protein and omega-3 fatty acids)
  • 1 teaspoon of spirulina powder  (good source of unique antioxidants, tons of B-vitamins, carotenoids, protein, and strengthens the immune system)
  • 2 teaspoons of raw cacao nibs (one of the highest antioxidant foods available; can help reduce blood pressure and improve overall cardiovascular function)
  • 1 teaspoon of raw organic cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon of raw Maca powder (nutrient-rich, made from a south american root; purported to help increase libido; adaptogen that can help the body deal with stress)
  • 1 scoop of chocolate Raw Grass-fed whey protein
  • 1 tablespoon of raw almond butter
